What You'll Do:

• Maintain a consistent and supportive presence in the field, engaging with frontline teams to understand how work is performed, identify operational risk, and strengthen critical controls.
• Lead and support incident learning using Learning Teams, TapRoot, and other appropriate cause analysis methodologies, with a focus on understanding operational context, identifying system improvements, and sharing meaningful learning.
• Work with site leaders, employees, and other functional groups to maintain, monitor, and continually improve the site Safety Management System and applicable Safety Standards.
• Monitor safety requirements, commitments, and corrective actions; use safety information systems and performance data to identify trends, track completion, and provide meaningful updates to responsible leaders.
• Serve as a subject matter resource for the interpretation and practical application of safety policies, standards, procedures, and hazard identification tools.
• Maintain working knowledge of, and support compliance with, applicable company requirements, Saskatchewan occupational health and safety requirements, mine regulations, and other legislation relevant to site operations.
• Partner with Training and operational departments to develop and deliver practical safety learning materials, toolbox talks, communications, and monthly safety meeting packages.
• Help develop and improve site safety policies, standards, communications, and hazard identification tools so they are clear, practical, and useful to frontline teams.
• Facilitate the inspection, certification, and administration of designated safety equipment and related programs.
• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to the Safety Services.
• Actively participate in safety committees and cross-functional working groups, building constructive relationships across the site and with external or government stakeholders where required.
• Use Microsoft 365 and applicable site systems effectively to support safety reporting, communication, action tracking, requisitioning, and workflow management.
• Actively promote and model the five principles of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), helping build a culture focused on learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring:

• A Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required. Additional safety-specific education, professional certifications, or relevant supervisory experience are considered assets.
• A demonstrated commitment to safety excellence and the ability to lead by example.
• Practical experience in potash, mining, industrial plant, or a comparable operations environment. Experience with underground operations is an asset.
• Experience working with safety management systems, critical controls, incident learning, or cause analysis methodologies is a strong asset.
• Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation and regulations, with the ability to translate requirements into practical application.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to facilitate discussions, deliver toolbox talks, and speak to groups.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with frontline employees, leaders, functional departments, and external stakeholders.
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Solid computer skills, including a high level of comfort with Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to learn site-specific safety and work management systems.
