Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, within the Corporate and Operating Segments, Global Communications team, the Advisor, Corporate Communications, will support Nutrien’s corporate functions by delivering on strategic communications initiatives that help position the organization as a leading global provider of crop inputs and services. This role will require cross-team collaboration in the spirit of showcasing Nutrien’s full value stream..
What you will do:
- Partner with assigned corporate functions, including External Affairs – Community Engagement & Investment, and Indigenous Relations, to develop integrated and proactive communications initiatives that support Nutrien’s global narratives and business priorities.
- Coordinate the development and execution of both day-to-day communications initiatives and broader, long-term campaigns for assigned groups.
- Write engaging social media and website content that inspires and helps deliver on corporate business objectives.
- Assist in the creation of communications materials in support of corporate events, including conferences, executive speaking opportunities, large charitable donations, and other corporate initiatives.
- Draft briefs, memos, emails and remarks for a variety of engagements and events for Nutrien’s senior leaders.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Global Communications team in the development of key messaging to be leveraged in corporate communications materials.
- Track and analyze communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and provide insights for continuous improvement.
- Maintain Nutrien’s communications policies.
What you will bring:
- 3-5 years of experience in communications, preferably for a global, publicly traded company.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in the agriculture industry will be considered an asset.
- Keen interest in building an understanding of Nutrien’s industry-leading business.
- Understanding of communications best practices, planning and execution.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively depending on the project.
- Experience supporting and collaborating with multiple stakeholders, preferably in an operational setting.
- Strong curiosity, learning capacity and independent decision-making ability.
- Strong social media acumen and up to date on emerging social trends.
