Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Account Reconciliations and Period End Close, NPKC, you will responsible for specific Energy-related tasks and other operational assistance including oversight of Government surveys. You will be required to work closely with individuals across the company including Nutrien’s Accounting Center of Excellence, Treasury, Energy, Accounts Payable, Human Resources, SOX, and Tax departments.

 

What you will do:
 

  • Execute the counterparty confirmation process for Energy transactions.
  • Prepare reports for Energy stakeholders, including gas schedules, swap rates, FX rates.
  • Process monthly Natural Gas invoices – critical payments and correspondence with stakeholders.
  • Monitor the Natural Gas inbox – manage emails that pertain to Back Office for Energy by organizing and actioning accordingly.
  • Process various invoices via Oracle for the Energy team.
  • Provide backup for Power invoices, Carbon Tax returns, Power Price reporting, and Legal Entity Identifier Renewals.
  • Manage the Annual Compliance process for certain pipelines.
  • Respond to adhoc requests relating to Energy.
  • Oversight and review of monthly, quarterly, annual government surveys.
  • Monitor, identify, and update policies and procedures.
  • Support on-going initiatives and special projects.

 

What you will bring:
 

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in accounting, Energy, or Treasury is preferred.
  • Business degree with a finance or accounting major.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Oracle is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills, take direction well while striving to gain knowledge and understanding of Energy activities and tasks, and able to concurrently handle multiple demands/tasks. 
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
