The Automation/Electronics Engineer will report to the Chief Mine Maintenance Engineer. 

 

This position is located in Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Canada and is not available for remote work.

 

What you will do:

  • Support existing underground automation and control systems, power systems, and computer/IT systems
  • Design, implement, and care for new control systems, power systems, and computer/IT systems
  • Collaborate with Administration personnel to provide technical assistance on bid analyses, equipment evaluators, scheduling, estimating and procurement
  • Provide training on new technology as needed; provide troubleshooting assistance as needed
  • Guide aspects of capital and non-capital projects including scope, timeline, budget and quality

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training with the goal of attaining P. Eng status with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan
  • All ranges of experience will be considered, minimum 2-4 years of experience or more is preferred
  • Secondary degree in Computer Science and/or Project Management experience would be considered an asset
  • Proven leadership skills and Supervisory experience would be considered an asset
  • Maintenance and design of modern control systems and related IT infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of varied electrical equipment and technical advances in the field
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and technical schematics
  • Electrical design and implementation of power and annunciation systems
  • Experience with Operations and Maintenance technical assistance
  • Engineering, maintenance, project, and/or operations experience at an operating facility or heavy industrial site is considered an asset
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
