Job Summary:

 

The Category Coordinator, NPK Procurement, is a pivotal role to achieve our goals of sourcing excellence. This position represents a critical member of the buying team, supporting purchasing execution and cost management across Nutrien Upstream (NPK) business units (~20 sites across North America). This position will primarily support the daily requirements of procurement S2C and P2P processes such as RFP, purchase order and invoice processing, managing category procurement, global supplier relationships, and supporting cross-site strategic efforts. This role will report to the Manager, Shared Buying and will involve some travel across North America

 

This role is located in Saskatoon, SK or at a Saskatchewan Wholesale Potash Location.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Support site-level purchasing execution, source-to-pay processes, punch outs, outline and blanket agreements and expediting across multiple NPK sites
  • Manage and improve purchasing processes for MRO category, ensuring compliance
  • with procurement policies and procedures
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities and process improvements by leveraging scale, volume, and automation (e.g., catalogs, blanket orders)
  • Track and report KPIs, value capture, and procurement initiatives; ensure data accuracy and timely updates
  • Provide procurement support to end users for accurate material requisitions and execute procure-to-pay transactions efficiently
  • Support and manage global supplier relationships, including performance reviews, KPI reporting, and corrective actions when needed
  • Engage in process driven solutions to problem solve discrepancies within a cohesive team environment including Category Management, Suppliers, Advisors and Warehouse personnel
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Manager, Shared Buying

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, Business Analytics, or related fields preferred
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and other MS Office applications
  • Experience in procurement, sourcing, & negotiations
  • Experience with either SAP or Oracle
  • Clear understanding of and practical experience with enterprise asset management (maintenance, procurement, inventory management), spend management (e.g., Analysis & Reports)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter requiring little supervision
  • Industrial product knowledge is considered an asset
