The Director – Nitrogen & Phosphate Site Accounting provides senior financial leadership and controllership oversight for Nutrien’s Nitrogen and Phosphate manufacturing facilities. This role ensures strong financial governance, accurate reporting, disciplined capital stewardship, while acting as a trusted finance partner to stakeholders.

The position plays a critical role in connecting site-level finance execution with corporate accounting, FP&A, and controllership, ensuring compliance with IFRS, SOX, and Nutrien Global Accounting Policies.
This is a Temporary role for a term of 12 months.Â

What You'll Do:
Â
- Financial Controllership & Compliance
- Oversee plant-level accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting for Nitrogen and Phosphate operations
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, Nutrien accounting policies, and SOX internal control requirements
- Maintain balance sheet integrity, accrual accuracy, and audit-ready documentation
- Capital & Cost Stewardship
- Provide financial governance over capital projects, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset derecognition
- Partner with Engineering and Operations on accounting treatment for major repairs, overhauls, and capital spares
- Plant Finance Leadership
- Lead and develop site accounting teams across multiple locations
- Drive consistency and standardization in plant finance processes and practices
- Business Partnership
- Provide financial insight on production costs
- Audit, Risk & Transformation
- Lead site finance engagement with internal and external auditors
- Proactively identify and mitigate financial and compliance risks
- Support enterprise initiatives (e.g., One Nutrien) and continuous improvement efforts
What You'll Bring:
Â
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation
- 15+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance, plant accounting, or controllership
- 5+ years of managment experience, supervising and providing direction to others within a global organizational.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, capital accounting, product costing, and internal controls
- Proven people leadership experience in complex, multi-site environments
- Strong ability to partner with Operations, Engineering, Finance and Senior Leadership
