Metallurgical Technician

This position is located at the Pilot Plant Facility and reports to the Pilot Plant Manager.

What you will do:

• Support potash operating segment projects at all 6 Potash sites
• Support portfolios of Product Quality, Metallurgical Projects and Mill Process & Pilot Plant team  
• Collect and analyze potash process samples
• Responsible for the timely and orderly flow of sample analysis
• Ensure the accuracy of all analytical information processed
• Participate in safety programs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment
• Miscellaneous assignments as they arise, due to need and priority

What you will bring:

• Chemical Technology Diploma or equivalent degree program

• Previous Potash site experience is an asset
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, standard operating procedures, and safe work practices
• Ability to travel to any one of the 6 Potash sites as needed
• Familiarity with Potash processing circuits
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Aptitude for identifying and mitigating hazards in the workplace
• Ability to adapt to changing timelines and priorities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated accountability
• Tactful and effective communication skills with a variety of people and departments
• Readiness to learn new skills and take on increasing responsibility
