Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Projects, the Senior Advisor, Midstream Projects will be an important contributor to key strategic Midstream projects, with primary focus on the new ocean terminal currently being evaluated by Nutrien. This role will require strong analytical capabilities and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally on commercial and other various workstreams.
This position is a full-time, temporary position for a 12-month duration.
What You'll Do:
- Lease and commercial structuring support, including negotiations, analysis, and drafting
- Provide strategic analysis across different projects and workstreams, including benchmarking and alternatives evaluation
- Develop, update, and maintain financial models
- Cross-functional collaboration with teams across Midstream, Legal, Corporate Development, Corporate Strategy, and Capital
- External coordination and communication with several third parties
- Provide research and source-based background information
- Take a proactive approach to the tasks at hand and respond quickly to the needs of the business
- Work effectively with a small, highly accountable team; display a flexible “can do” attitude and willingness to help out where required
- Manage to deadlines on multiple projects/workstreams of varying complexities
- Be enthusiastic, curious, and have a strong desire to learn
- Model Nutrien’s values of safety, integrity, working together, and delivering with excellence
What You'll Bring:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Enrollment in or completion of a professional designation is desirable (CFA preferred)
- 6-8 years of experience in finance, corporate development, or consulting roles with an analytical/data focus
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly financial modelling using Excel and presentations in PowerPoint
- Superior analytical skills, with the ability to both go deep and retain big picture thinking
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion and sound judgement
- Strong organizational and time management skills
