About Upstream IT, Engineering
Â
Upstream IT, Engineering partners with Engineering and Operations teams across Nutrien's Nitrogen, Phosphate, and Potash business units to deliver technology solutions that support safe, efficient, and effective operations.
The team supports a portfolio of custom-developed applications, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software, reporting solutions, and digital technologies used across Nutrien's operating sites. We work closely with business stakeholders to deliver, support, and continuously improve solutions that create operational value.

About the Role
Â
As a Senior Solution Analyst, you will work with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to identify opportunities, define requirements, and support the delivery and sustainment of technology solutions that support Nutrien's Upstream operations.
You will contribute across the solution lifecycle, from discovery and planning through implementation, enhancement, and sustainment. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement capabilities, and the ability to understand complex business processes and operational environments.

What You'll Do:
Business Analysis & Solution Discovery
Â
- Facilitate discovery workshops to understand business needs, processes, and improvement opportunities
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements
- Translate business objectives into actionable requirements for delivery teams
- Create process maps, user stories, use cases, business cases, and related documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and user experience through technology
- Align business stakeholders and technical teams to support successful solution deliver

Solution Delivery & Sustainment
Â
- Support implementation of new technology initiatives and enhancements to existing solutions
- Manage application portfolios, balancing project delivery, enhancements, sustainment, and business priorities
- Collaborate with project managers, product owners, developers, architects, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle
- Participate in solution design, testing, deployment, and transition-to-support activities
- Support application sustainment through issue resolution, enhancement prioritization, and continuous improvement
- Ensure solutions remain aligned with evolving business requirements and operational needs

Stakeholder Engagement
Â
- Build strong relationships across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Corporate functions
- Facilitate collaboration among stakeholders with varying priorities and technical expertise
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to business audiences
What You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications
Â
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent education and experience considered
- 5+ years' experience in business analysis, solution analysis, product support, application sustainment, technology delivery, process improvement, or related roles
- Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements for technology solutions
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience supporting enterprise software, business applications, or digital transformation initiatives
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and competing priorities; strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications
Â
- Experience in mining, manufacturing, chemicals, agriculture, energy, healthcare, utilities, transportation, logistics, or other multi-site operational environments
- Familiarity with engineering, maintenance, asset management, production operations, operational planning, or field-based functions
- Experience with COTS software and custom-developed applications; knowledge of industrial software, engineering applications, planning systems, asset management platforms, operational technology, and production systems
- Experience across the software lifecycle, including implementation, sustainment, enhancement, and modernization
- Experience with enterprise applications, integrations, reporting, analytics, and technology solutions supporting business operations
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments; business analysis, project management, product management, or related certifications considered an asset
