This position is required to be on-site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and professional leadership and supporting the information technology assets across the Nutrien Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potash business units. This position will be a senior technical resource providing support to all our Nutrien sites.
This position requires occasional travel to the Nutrien mine site locations in Canada and the US, and reports to the Sr. Manager, Hybrid Cloud.
What you will do:
- Provide technical support to the Nutrien site IT teams.
- Take lead technical and support roles to improve project and initiative execution at the sites.
- Provide Tier 3 support for the server, application & network infrastructure.
- Work closely with Nutrien corporate IT partners in validating proposed system changes and facilitating those changes with the potash site operations.
- Actively participate in Nutrien Wholesale Technical Specialist Groups (Service Groups).
- Actively participate in IT/OT synergy. Work in collaboration with OT personnel and establishes a synergy between IT and OT domains of work.
- Support site teams to update documentation for key systems.
- Develop and implement support process and procedures for a 365x24x7 environment.
- Develop and implement process and procedures, following industry best practices and Nutrien IT standards, for system security, efficient system operations, routine maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Keep up to date with the emerging technological and business methods to best support and advise of the potash sites.
What you will bring:
- Minimum of 6-8 years related experience in an IT role preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
- Education, training or additional experience relevant to the role that is equivalent to a typical degree or diploma.
- Operating System knowledge in Windows and Linux.
- Certifications from VMWare, Microsoft & Cisco will be considered an asset.

- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Proven experience in Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, and an aptitude for solving complex technical challenges when they arise.
- Ability to evaluate the technology solutions to meet the needs of the business.
- Planning - developing short term plans, long term plans, business cases and proposals.
