Sr Analyst / Analyst, Payment Strategies

This role reports into the Director, Payment Strategy.



What you will do:

  • Ensure alignment with internal stakeholders by building relationships, and supporting new opportunities to expand our payment offerings and keep pace with innovation
  • Lead projects to optimize Nutrien’s existing credit card processing and payments structure in North America and internationally
  • Actively engage with the Digital team, providing financial expertise for ePayments as we expand the platform
  • Assist in the development of, and influence, global strategic direction for partnerships, innovation, and execution of payment solutions with the intent to deliver on modernizing the customer experience and broadening accessibility in an omni-channel environment
  • Collaborate with internal business functions, including Digital, Marketing, Operations Finance and IT, delivering innovative payments knowledge and acting as a conduit in the research, design, development and enhancement of Nutrien’s credit card and payments platform, and considering impacts to Nutrien Financial customer financing programs
  • Gather feedback from the field to understand customer and competitive factors in processing of customer purchases and payments and build out offerings to support the sales process
  • Facilitate change management in the implementation of best practices and communication to stakeholders
  • Assist in the Development of consistent policies and procedures for credit card processing, and deliver training and education throughout North America (Australia and South America in the future)
  • Strong understanding of PCI compliance, and assist/own Nutrien’s PCI compliance activities, as they relate to the credit card and digital payments portfolio
  • Track financial performance and metrics for Nutrien’s credit card processing program, and future payments solutions providing reports to senior management
  • Participate as the subject matter expert on various projects, contributing to and owning business requirements, to ensure alignment with the strategy and integration into the end to end solution
  • Work collaboratively with the business to drive adoption of Nutrien’s commercial payment strategies and compliance with policies
  • Complete ad hoc analysis and presentations as required, and provide expertise on special projects

 

What you will bring:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in payments acceptance and processing
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management or Finance required
  • Extensive knowledge of payments processing industry including authorization, settlement, funding, chargebacks, interchange, card association rules/regulations, EMV, tokenization, encryption, PCI, digital ecommerce payments, fraud and current industry trends/challenges. Passion for and understanding of digital payment consumer behavior, trends and innovations
  • Knowledge of fraud mitigation systems and industry tools
  • Demonstrable decision making/problem solving skills
  • Experience with vendor selection and contract negotiations preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working with local-global organizations, either in market or corporate roles
  • Some travel required
