Reporting to the NPK IT BRM, this position is responsible for conceptualizing and delivering the Digital Transformation to Nutrien’s Potash business, combining Research & Development efforts with ETC and providing coordination of IT enterprise service, as the Potash IT BRM. This includes managing a team of Potash dedicated IT professionals, and working with other technical, cyber, EUC, network, site support and applications teams from across IT.
This position is a key member of the business unit Operations Leadership Team, together with ETC and all Potash GMs providing close relationship and interactions within all mines, having a clear knowledge on the business problems to be solved, both strategic with respect to the current and future direction of the Potash business where Digital Transformation will be the solution, and day-to-day operational coordination. The position requires building and maintaining trusted relationships with Potash Operations Senior VP and the respective leadership teams, Engineering Technology and Capital and the General Managers to align IT traditional and Digital transformation with the business.
What you will do:
1) Lead the Potash IT team and represent IT to the Potash Operations leadership team, ETC and General Managers
• Propose long term IT technology roadmaps for Potash business with clear definitions about the technologies that will improve operational efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness
• Deliver innovative solutions promoting reliability and efficiency
• Clearly articulate the strategy, vision, direction, and the plan for Potash IT to all stakeholders
• Promote and facilitate communication between business and IT to influence business and IT strategies and alignment
• Set goals for assigned team members
2) Responsible for the Support of Potash site Information Technology and integration with Operational Technology systems
• Track IT support KPIs, sharing with business stakeholders and planning improvement activities with the enterprise IT teams
• Establish and maintain relationships with mines General Managers to capture overall IT service quality, influencing and suggesting opportunities to be addressed by the enterprise IT teams
• Lead the operations support to the solutions (hardware, software and services) managed directly by the Potash IT team
• Implement an integration plan to seamlessly connect IT and Operational Technology with clear documentation of roles & responsibilities, operating procedures, and change management
• Ensure procedures are in place, following industry best practices and Nutrien IT standards, for upgrades, and enhancements and routine maintenance
3) Responsible for executing risk mitigation process and procedures for the Potash IT function
• Implement risk mitigation plans for all supported technologies
• Be the contact person to audit procedures and champion the action plans
• Partner with IT and OT teams to plan, build and update backup systems and disaster recovery procedures
• Communicate Cyber Security campaigns to end user organizations
• Working collaboratively with NPK & IT leadership to develop and implement detailed response and restoration plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a cyber-attack
4) Responsible for the delivery of the defined budget of the Potash IT function
• Execute financials as planned during the annual budget for the Potash IT function
• Seek and list opportunities to reduce IT costs
• Work with GMs to propose year and 5-year Capital Plans initiatives
• Build business cases to support capital initiatives
• Track metrics to ensure desired business benefits are realized
What you will bring:
• 10 or more years of experience working across Potash and/or IT disciplines, including a minimum of five years management/supervisory experience
• Demonstrated experience in Potash business and operations
• Finance acumen
• Demonstrated experience in matrix environments and leading by influence
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders at the SVP level
• Proven experience developing strategies, plans, and goals for teams and individuals
• Exceptional program and project management rigor with a passion for operational excellence
• Experience leading Digital programs, agile and innovative methods
• A proven change agent able to bridge disparate viewpoints to reach consensus
