Reporting to the Director, Finance Business Partner - Corporate, you will play a crucial role in strategic decision-making and financial management at Nutrien.

 

What you will do:

  • Lead SG&A (Sales, General & Administrative) and Other Income & Expense (OIE) budgeting and forecasting processes across select Corporate, NPK, and Commercial functions
  • Deliver quarterly reporting packages to cost owners summarizing actuals/budgets/forecasts, key insights, and areas for further review or opportunity. This includes delivering reporting packages at the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) level for their respective areas, highlighting performance across their teams and delivery of commitments, and providing meaningful insights from which the ELT can action decisions
  • Identify and execute opportunities for standardization and improvement across annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and reporting processes
  • Single point of contact for all financial items with key stakeholders, such as business cases for projects, tracking project financial performance, decision support and/or matrix development (capital vs expense, treatment of donations, definitions/methodology for benefit loads)
  • Work closely with HR to establish a process for headcount budgeting, including the application of compensation values to completed SG&A budgets, and the process to report and track headcount to ELT throughout the year 
  • Work with various groups to obtain meaningful budget assumptions such as compensation increases, benefits, FX, and inflation
  • Complete analysis to create Nutrien-level reporting and ELT discussion on various topics, such as approach for upcoming budget season (i.e. flat to prior year and allow inflation), progress on SG&A and OIE related initiatives such as savings targets
  • Conduct scenario planning, provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions
  • Work closely with various departments to align financial strategies with business goals
  • Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and business performance indications (BPIs) to evaluate the performance of the FP&A function

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from a recognized institution
  • Finance designation (CPA, CFA, or MBA)
  • 10+ years of experience in finance, with previous experience in FP&A or Business Partner roles preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including c-suite
  • Excellent analytical and data skills, able to jump in and make sense of large sets of complex data
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills that facilitate a positive team environment
  • Proficient with the Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Motivated with strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of Nutrien's ERPs (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, HANA, BW)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, complexity, and structure workstreams effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
