Reporting to the Allan Procurement Manager, the Senior Advisor, Procurement, will be responsible for the full lifecycle management, from creation to closeout. You will ensure alignment with Nutrien’s procurement objectives by collaborating with site-based teams and executing strategic contracting and commercial planning. Your expertise will support both capital and operational projects, to drive value for Nutrien’s portfolios, and contribute to successful procurement outcomes. They will be a critical member of the “on-site” team, supporting site-level sourcing aligned across the Potash network to optimize our supply chain. The candidate will primarily support the daily requirements of procurement Source to Contract and Procure to Pay processes.

This position will be located at Nutrien Allan Potash mine site in Allan, Saskatchewan, Canada.
What You'll Do:
Â
- Directly support, collaborate and work with Site Procurement, Capital and Category Management team members executing various operational requirements for the Potash Business Unit, such as optimization through systemization and automation of inventory, and utilization of enabled systems (Ariba)
- Proactively develop and execute procurement strategies that drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions while ensuring alignment with current and future business needs. Secure stakeholder buy-in and ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and governance requirements
- Apply strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills to design and implement sourcing and stakeholder engagement strategies that support site cost reduction initiatives, aligning approaches with operating budgets, maintenance strategies, capital program, scope requirements, supplier market dynamics, and operational risks and opportunities
- Develop tailored procurement strategies and contract execution plans to support the capital and operational scopes through Project Management stage-gate review processes, ensuring commercial strategies align with lifecycle cost, schedule, and performance requirements
- Facilitate and support end-users’ needs for the sourcing of goods and services, including leading the RFx processes for Opex and Capex, reviewing scopes of work, evaluation criteria and commercial compensation structures that incentivize cost control and performance. Lead bid evaluations, lead and support negotiations, and support contract execution through to closeout activities
- Draft contract documentation, including contract exhibits, pricing schedules, KPIs, and performance incentives tied to operational control and productivity improvements. Prepare contract strategy documents, recommendations to award, and executive summaries for leadership approval
- Manage day-to-day contract administration activities with a focus on cost discipline, including contractor onboarding, rate validation, change management, claims management, and dispute resolution
- Support site leadership with forecasting, variance analysis, and cost-reduction reporting, providing clear insights into savings realization, risk exposure, and budget impacts.
- Champion Nutrien’s Diversity and Inclusion commitments, with particular emphasis on Indigenous engagement and inclusion, ensuring contracting strategies support community participation while maintaining cost competitiveness
- Engage in peer leadership, coaching, and mentoring with team members across all potash site locations
What You'll Bring:

- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline. A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered
- 10+ years’ relevant experience and understanding in supply chain management - strategic sourcing, inventory management, procurement and contract management
- Certifications in related disciplines such as procurement (e.g., SCMP/CPSM) are considered an asset
- Targeted experience in competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract execution, supplier relationship management, spend analytics, and supplier risk management will be considered a strong asset
- Experience with contract management/administration, including invoice validation, contract interpretation, and claims management, will be considered an asset
- A proactive, high-energy mindset with the ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, effectively engaging with both internal customers and external suppliers
- Proficiency in legal and commercial contract negotiations
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Solid technical and analytical skills
- Proven track record in leading engagements or problem-solving with experience coordinating cross-functional teams
- Practical experience with enterprise asset management systems (Oracle) and spend management tools (Ariba)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
