What You'll Do:

 

  • Provide expertise for troubleshooting mechanical systems deficiencies, and create/update troubleshooting procedures as required to meet operational requirements
  • Accountable for providing engineering functions and project support to maintaining and upgrading Mill facilities, equipment and processes
  • Responsible for development and documentation of improved maintenance activity efficiency and effectiveness
  • Review engineering and maintenance specifications and propose design modifications to improve equipment and process reliability
  • Provide project management and engineering support to ensure successful execution of major repairs, overhauls and/or projects
  • Anticipates and identifies opportunities to increase plant availability; utilizes the management of change process to execute solutions.
  • Active participation in executing Preventative Maintenance strategies and Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Participates in Turnaround planning and execution
  • Demonstrate positive safety behavior and safety leadership

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Must have a Mechanical Engineering degree with a minimum of 0-20 years experience and must be registered with APEGS as a Professional Engineer or an Engineer-in-Training
  • Varying level of education and experience will be considered
  • Knowledgeable in pressure vessel, piping, welding and other stationary equipment standards.
  • Knowledgeable in rotating equipment monitoring and maintenance techniques.
  • Engineering, maintenance, project, and/or operations experience at an operating facility or a heavy industrial site is considered an asset
  • A proven appreciation for and demonstrated capabilities in the application of advanced methods of data collection and data analysis
  • Experience with SAP is considered an asset
  • Exposure to reliability tactics such as RCFA, cause mapping, FMEA, PM and PdM
  • Exposure to process safety management processes such as Management of Change
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Self starter and ability to handle large and varied workload
