Reporting to Manager, Global Mobility, the Senior Advisor, Global Mobility, is responsible for executing Nutrien’s global mobility strategic vision ensuring alignment to business need, market competitiveness and always keeping the employee experience top of mind. The primary focus is to enhance the overall employee experience throughout the mobility process, ensuring adherence to Nutrien’s policies, immigration, and tax regulations.

As such, transforming our program and practice from delivery to advisory and becoming a more strategic partner that is aligned to business needs and HR programs is imperative. As the talent needs of Nutrien continue to evolve, our global mobility program must evolve to serve the needs of our stakeholders in HR and the business while maintaining program integrity and compliance.

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Create a positive employee experience with high-touch service for participants through all aspects of the employee’s relocation
  • Serve as the point of contact during transfers, secondments, immigration, and all global mobility-related matters, fulfilling all legal and financial responsibilities
  • Provide consultancy services, advice, and collaborative support regarding the interpretation and execution of Nutrien’s global mobility policies and practices
  • Implement, execute, and advise on global mobility programs, policies, and processes globally, ensuring compliance and alignment with business needs
  • Review, analyze, and ensure global mobility programs remain market competitive and cost‑effective
  • Act as a key point of contact for HR and leaders, advising on complex mobility requests, assignment planning, and policy counseling
  • Work closely with program vendors, ensuring employee experience is prioritized and service delivery is effective and efficient
  • Adhere to the Global Mobility function budget and provide annual budget guidance to business units
  • Advise HR and business leaders on global mobility budget processes and costs, ensuring visibility into program spending and promoting understanding of talent outcomes
  • Support quarterly foreign tax reconciliations, tax authorization lists, and overall tax compliance for Nutrien’s assignees
  • Collaborate with internal teams on relocation, immigration, and tax programs and policies to ensure seamless, well‑supported employee experiences
  • Ensure alignment between vendors, internal teams, and global mobility programs and policies
  • Provide expert advice in addressing inquiries related to Nutrien’s global mobility policies, procedures, and cross‑functional partner needs
  • Manage end‑to‑end mobility cases, enhancing employee experience in line with Nutrien’s mobility policies and culture of care
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during transfers, secondments, immigration, and all global mobility‑related matters, fulfilling all legal and financial responsibilities
  • Execute and support North American relocations through Guaranteed Buyout (GBO) and Buyer Value Option (BVO) programs
  • Advise HR and management on policy exception requests for consideration and response
  • Oversee global immigration activity, acting as a liaison between Nutrien’s immigration provider, HR Managers, and employees
  • Mitigate reputational risk by ensuring compliance across all immigration casework
  • Monitor immigration reports for expiry dates and visa extensions, initiating new cases as required
  • Navigate multiple systems and software programs including SuccessFactors, SAP/Oracle, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Continually evaluate operational efficiency and recommend process improvements

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or other similar degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training and global mobility experience
  • Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) and or Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation preferred
  • 6+ year of experience in both Canada and U.S. and global immigration/relocation administration, as well as 6+ years managing the full relocation cycle for employees at all levels of the organization
  • 2+ years’ experience working with international payroll or tax matters as it relates to the global mobility function
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Guaranteed Buyout (GBO) and Buyer Value Option (BVO)programs
  • Knowledge of global immigration and taxation relates to relocation and business travelers
  • Experience with Success Factors, SAP, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, analytical, problem-solving skills and initiative to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working with multiple functions and with employees at all levels in a multi-tasking, deadline oriented, team environment
  • Solution-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers and team members
  • Sensitivity to the needs of culturally diverse assignees and their families
