Reporting to the Senior Technical Training Manager, SHE&S, Downstream. This position is responsible for managing the compliance of Nutrien Ag Solutions Anhydrous Ammonia assets, developing and facilitating anhydrous ammonia training and implementing Nutrien Ag. Solutions policies and procedures relating to Anhydrous Ammonia and Emergency Response. 

 

What You'll Do:

  • Mobile and Stationary NH3 Asset Regulatory Compliance:
    • Work closely with PSM/RMP group on recurring inspections.
  • NH3 Training:
    • Maintain Anhydrous Ammonia Operating Standards.
    • Maintain Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training.
    • Facilitate Advanced Ammonia Training at locations.
    • Manage NTIP Inspector Training and training records.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Work with SH&E Advisors on response to ammonia-related incidents.
    • Co-lead NH3 working team investigations.
    • Prepare and collaborate with SHE&S Advisors to implement corrective actions.
  • Industry & Government Liaisons:
    • Engage with TFI and ARA.
    • Participate in stationary vessel new site planning and existing location upgrades.
    • Interface with jurisdictional regulators.
  • Safety Management:
    • Monitor, implement, and evaluate approved Anhydrous Ammonia PPE requirements.
    • Assist with investigations on incidents involving Anhydrous Ammonia.
    • Monitor facilities for unsafe work practices and conditions; support Hazard ID reporting.
    • Support organizational initiatives and identify solutions for implementation.

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma required, recognized designation in safety, environmental science or related field preferred.
  • Haz-Mat Technician certification, or able to obtain.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ work experience with Anhydrous Ammonia.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills, ability to facilitate training and to interact with all levels of employees and management.
  • Must be self–motivated and disciplined requiring little to no direct supervision, ability to concurrently deal with multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including MS Word®, PowerPoint® and Excel®.
  • Must be able to lift 25 – 50 lbs., occasionally lift 51 to greater than 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to be certified by a physician to wear a respirator and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace and possess a United States driver’s license.
  • CDL or minimum of a Driver File required.
  • Must be able to travel within North America up to 65% of the time, with overnight travel approximately 40% of the time.

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

The salary range for this role, in Chicago, IL, is between $91,200 - $156,300. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
