This role reports to the Chief Engineer (Engineering Manager) and is located at our Sussex, New Brunswick site. This is a temporary position for 12-18 months. 

 

Salary and title will be based on the level of education and experience of the candidate.

 

What you will do:

  • Support engineering and mining operations across a range of specialized areas, including but not limited to:
    • Mine design and planning.
    • Shaft and sump management.
    • Mine ventilation.
    • Ground control.
    • Rock mechanics.
  • Participate in research, data collection, and analytical activities to inform operational decisions.
  • Prepare thorough reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Coordinate both site-based and external resources as project needs evolve.
  • Manage operational, maintenance and capital projects.
  • Support site geomatics/survey needs as needed.
  • Perform other tasks aligned with operational support as required.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Registered or ability to register with local Engineering Governing body (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick).
  • Excellent oral and written communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to positive safety behaviors and safety leadership.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and adapt quickly to shifting work requirements.
  • Well-developed organizational and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in analytical techniques and computer applications relevant to mining and geology.
  • Comfortable working in underground mining environments.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams or independently, as needed.
