Reporting to the North America (NA) Seed Lead, this people leader role is responsible for leading the Dyna-Gro seed business through a diverse team comprised of product management, area product brand experts, supply chain and logistics, and analytics specialists across the US. This role will create long term strategies for profitable share growth across regions and divisions by crop.   

 

What You'll Do:

  • Drive strategic leadership and participate fully in the NA Commercial Seed team, fostering a culture of achieving exceptional business outcomes through the formulation and execution of a robust strategy. This includes seamless orchestration of integration and alignment across diverse teams and functions, encompassing Field leadership, Region and Division management, and working closely with Production and Operations teams.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams to achieve strategic objectives through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Establish and oversee comprehensive development strategies tailored to each direct report.
  • In partnership with peer leaders, ensure direct reports receive clear expectations for roles and responsibilities creating alignment between Field and Seed business activities.
  • Own and be accountable for Dyna-Gro Seed brands.
    • Own strategy and execution plan including brand awareness and brand equity building for Dyna-Gro
    • Ownership of the 5Ps (Pricing, Product, Placement, Promotion, People Development) including brand health
    • Execute strategies and actions to achieve financial objectives for the Dyna-Gro P&L.
    • Partner with members of the Seeds Leadership Team to align on future crop plans and crop management as well as monthly forecasting.
    • Provide leadership for the product management team and all aspects of managing the product life-cycle in all Dyna-Gro crops.
    • Lead and effectively guide the supply chain and logistics team in achieving inventory and logistics goals as well as well third party seed deliverables.
  • Lead and be accountable for Dyna-Gro seeds marketing and sales in partnership with the Regional Seed Managers.
  • Collaborate very closely with the appropriate lead for strategic supplier brands to ensure successful seed budget, inventory and financial outcomes are achieved each year across all seed brands.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of the Seeds Marketing and Selling Excellence process in collaboration with the Regions, Suppliers, Digital Transformation, Breeding, Agronomy & Environmental Sciences, Supply Chain, HR, and key stakeholders.
  • Through collaboration with Region Seed Managers ensure business plans for Dyna-Gro are aligned to corporate strategy and are built at the division level.  Develop sales plans and business plans in alignment with production & supply plans which directly contribute to Dyna-Gro profit and growth.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture Management or related field is required. Master’s in Business Administration is preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • 15 years of progressive experience in the agriculture industry with 10 years of previous leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to travel 30% to 40%.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Thorough understanding of the U.S. seed industry, strategic trait and genetic suppliers and seed marketing programs.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of seed accounting and P/L management.
  • In-depth awareness of best practices in logistics, inventory, and supply chain activities.
  • Demonstrated competency in managing seed supplier relationships, agreements, and marketing programs.
  • Skilled in managing seed rebates, accounting, and P/L.
  • Excellent people leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Able to manage multiple employees, priorities, and projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work with and maintain excellent working relationships with a diverse employee, customer and supplier base.
  • Ability to internally market the seed business strategy and influence field leaders to grow our seed business.
  • Previous experience with SAP software is an asset.
