We are seeking a highly motivated, safety orientated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor, Shaft & Hoist, and will be responsible for supporting and executing all tasks for the Shaft & Hoist department as directed by the Supervisor in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
This position is located in Vanscoy, SK, Canada and is not available for remote work. This position is temporary in nature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe work behaviors in a mining environment and compliance with all Nutrien procedures and policies.
- Support safe and efficient achievement of Shaft & Hoist department objectives, including material movement, scaling, chipping, mucking, regulatory activities, general housekeeping, and other duties as required.
- Play a critical role in ensuring your own safety and the safety of others.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience within the mining, or heavy equipment industry is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of mine shaft systems and equipment, and associated practices is considered an asset.
- Fall protection & rigging experience is considered an asset.
- Willingness to learn all aspects of operations and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training.
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to work safely and effectively in a labor-intensive team environment, as well as independently.
