What You Will Do:
- Foster a safe working environment by actively engaging in safety programs, addressing crew concerns, and upholding safety standards.
- Supervise and lead a team of electricians and instrumentation technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Develop and manage daily work schedules, ensuring safe and efficient task execution and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate in the planning and execution of maintenance activities, shutdowns, and projects.
- Conduct and document regular safety meetings, promoting a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or operational integrity.
- Maintain high equipment reliability through proactive maintenance strategies.
- Provide technical support for Project Engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Assume the role of site Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), overseeing related duties and compliance.
What You Will Bring:
- Journeyperson Electrician certification or an Electrical Engineering degree.
- 5–10 years of experience in mill maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role within a unionized environment, would be considered an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian Electrical Codes, high, medium, and low voltage systems, and instrumentation equipment. Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) training is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop and manage daily schedules effectively.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development of team members.
- Demonstrated leadership in providing instruction, evaluating performance, and fostering a respectful workplace culture.
- Passion for safety and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Understanding and promotion of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion within the team.
