What You'll Do:
Â
- Professionally carry out duties following Nutrien Safety principles and priorities
- Provide a safe workplace by ensuring all site policies and procedures are stringently adhered to, including lockout and tagout
- Train and Coach assigned employees in safe and efficient methods of operation and in the skills necessary in each area of Loadout byproviding them with discussion and hands on training methods
- Supervise all functions related to the filling and handling of the rail cars from the time the cars arrive on site until their departure
- Monitor housekeeping and equipment care responsibilities of the crew to ensure compliance to site standards
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, company policies and procedures, laws and regulations
- Participate in reviews and approvals of work procedures and policies
- Perform Loadout Area contractor coordination, cost procurement, budgeting, and forecasting
- Daily coordination of activities of crew
- Provide feedback on performance and communicating expectations on a consistent and ongoing basis to assigned personnel
- Work with the training department to ensure training is completed and updated in Success Factors
- Monitor operator completion of minor maintenance tasks that are a part of their responsibilities
- Collaboratively work with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to develop, support, and accomplish personal, team, and site goals
What You'll Bring:
Â
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years Loadout and rail cars experience
- Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Safety First mindset - Ability to perform all tasks while demonstrating positive safety behaviour and safety leadership
- Ability to mitigate workplace hazards
- Proven history of demonstrating "Respect in the Workplace" values
- Mindset emphasizing the importance of Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace
- Superior interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills are essential
- Ability to lead a team, delegate responsibility and mentor employees
- Ability to work with multiple tasks, prioritize and develop sound time lines
- Working knowledge of computer tools (Word, Excel, SAP)
- Good working knowledge of the functions of Loadout
- CROR or IROR training and experience in rail loading and shipping requirements
