Reporting to the Site Procurement Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will lead a team of unionized warehouse personnel and oversee all aspects of surface and underground warehouse operations. This includes inventory management, vendor programs, facility maintenance, and strategic sourcing initiatives. The successful candidate will have strong SAP system experience and a proven ability to lead in a safety-first environment.
Note: An Underground Supervisor ticket is required for this role or must be attained within 3 months of the start date.
What you will do:
- Provide strong safety leadership and ensure compliance with Nutrien’s Safety, Health, and Environment Program and all site-specific safety policies.
- Supervise and lead unionized warehouse personnel across surface and underground operations.
- Manage issuing, storage, physical inventory counts, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to manage repairable and rebuildable inventory programs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP and ensure alignment with Nutrien Procurement Policy.
- Work closely with the Material Master Data team to update descriptions and initiate inventory modifications.
- Identify and justify reorder points and quantities to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Directly support or lead warehouse and inventory optimization, as well as other key strategic sourcing projects and initiatives as required to realize a best-in-class procurement organization.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure warehouse facilities are clean, safe, and efficient at all times.
- Promotes efforts aimed at improving current business processes through a culture that fosters continuous improvement and innovation.
- Trains and develops staff, provides constructive performance feedback and takes appropriate corrective action to address performance.
- Manages projects and leads initiatives in the workplace.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships to share information, establish partnerships, and leverage expertise to accomplish the organization’s goals.
What you will bring:
- Technical Diploma or Trade Papers with 10+ years of warehouse or strategic sourcing experience and ideally 5+ years of supervisory experience in a union environment.
- Supply Chain Management Professional Designation, Business degree, Bachelor degree, Professional Parts Person Designation or equivalent education would be an asset.
- Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement, Inventory Management, Lean / Six Sigma, or Operational Planning is an asset.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of SAP, Innovaptive, SparesFinder and Ariba.
- High commitment and practice to safety.
- Exercises good judgment and makes effective, sound, timely and informed decisions.
- Adapts and is flexible and resilient in response to constraints, failures, and adversity.
- Ability to collaborate with internal departments, seek common ground and establish alignment on common goals.
- Superior problem solving and analytical skills, adaptability/flexibility and the ability to develop innovative concepts, techniques and effectively generate recommendations.
