The Buyer is a pivotal role to achieve our goals of sourcing strategy excellence. This role will have the opportunity to help implement and ensure high-quality execution of procurement duties. This role is responsible for executing procurement duties, supporting areas as assigned by leadership. Travel may be required.
What You'll Do:
- Represent Nutrien procurement with engineering, operations, maintenance, and contractors.
- Manage ISNetworld database to ensure our key suppliers maintain compliance.
- Manage project and site supplier contracts to ensure compliance and best value for Nutrien.
- Facilitate Supplier setup, updates, and assist in the communication & implementation of new contracts.
- Conduct source-to-pay activities including including RFx, PO creation and invoice/payment reconciliation.
- Address inquiries from suppliers and engage appropriate stakeholders as required.
- Reorder materials as needed at defined reorder points using procurement aligned business processes.
- Provide visibility into material needs across sites by maintaining open purchase order reports.
- Work collaboratively with purchase requestors to satisfy expediting requests.
- Engage suppliers to expedite items of critical importance and conduct analyses for delays.
- Work with Procurement Managers to draft contract terms and conditions that represent Nutrien best practices, desired KPIs, stakeholder priorities, and provide reporting on contract utilization.
- Work through approval paths to execute contracts, keeping stakeholders aware of supplier commitments.
- Engage regularly with all contracted parties to keep key stakeholders informed of all reporting and execution requirements outlined in contracts.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field.
- 3+ years relevant experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain management.
- Experience with major categories such as: Electrical & Instrumentation, Engineered Equipment, Construction Services, Engineering Services, Project Management etc.
- Experience in supply chain, source-to-contract and source-to-pay processes and tools, and experience in category strategy implementation, supplier contract execution, supplier relationship & contract management and supplier risk management.
- Analytical abilities and experience using quantitative insights to make decisions and influence stakeholders.
- Deep familiarity with the Microsoft office suite and other analytical software with the ability to learn quickly.
- Clear and solid understanding of, and practical experience with, enterprise asset management systems.
- SAP/Oracle spend management tools, data management tools and source-to-pay systems (eProcurement) experience will be considered an asset.
- Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement (SCMP/CPSM), Inventory Management (CIPS), Lean / Six Sigma, or Operational Planning are considered an asset.
