What You'll Do:

  • Track, analyze, and trend performance of electrical, instrumentation, and control system assets to identify reliability risks, bad actors, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain criticality rankings, asset strategies, and FMEA/RCM-based maintenance plans for I&E equipment.
  • Build, maintain, and report reliability KPIs (e.g., MTBF, PM compliance, PdM findings, work order history).
  • Lead development and execution of predictive maintenance programs for I&E systems, including infrared thermography, power quality analysis, partial discharge testing, protective relay testing, intelligent MCC monitoring, and instrument loop diagnostics.
  • Oversee and improve calibration programs; experience with Calibration Management Systems (e.g., Fluke, Beamex) is preferred.
  • Provide advanced technical support for troubleshooting issues in PLCs, DCS, instrumentation loops, electrical distribution, and process control systems.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and tuning of instrumentation, control logic, and electrical equipment.
  • Review and approve changes to instrument ranges, logic modifications, and protective relay settings.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and contractors to ensure new installations meet reliability, maintainability, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews including P&IDs, electrical one-lines, loop sheets, and I/O lists.
  • Support FAT/SAT verification, construction QA/QC, and checkout/commissioning of new or modified equipment.
  • Provide reliability input and scope development for outages, turnarounds, and capital projects.
  • Lead or participate in root cause analyses (RCA) for failures involving electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems.
  • Develop corrective actions, reliability improvements, and long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work within and support the site’s CMMS (Oracle EAM) to improve data quality, maintenance planning, and work execution.
  • Collaborate with I&E technicians, planners, supervisors, and operations personnel to improve workflow and reliability performance.
  • Coordinate with vendors for specialized testing, repair, diagnostics, and technical support.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial reliability, I&E maintenance engineering, or process plant electrical/instrumentation systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, protective relays; instrumentation; control valves; PLC/DCS platforms; and industrial communication networks.
  • Experience with RCM/FMEA methodologies and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Experience with maintenance planning, bad-actor elimination, and RCA investigations.
