In this crucial leadership team role, you will report to the General Manager, of the White Springs Phosphate Operations Facility. You will be the owner of White Springs Phosphate maintenance program, supporting four (4) drag line mining sites, one (1) mineral beneficiation plant, two (2) chemical facilities, and an integrated truck and rail distribution system.  You will lead a team of three (3) maintenance superintendents, one (1) General Supervisor and their teams in overseeing the site maintenance activities for routine, emergency, and turnaround requirements, while fostering Nutrien’s Culture of Care within your team and through all interactions.  The vision, mission, strategy, and programs defined by your maintenance team are applied across the White Springs site and are considered a long-term strategic advantage of Nutrien. 

 

This position is located at the White Springs, Florida facility and this role is not available for remote work.

 

What you will do:

  • Leads and ensures the compliance to site safety and environmental programs and departmental procedures consistent with Company policy, goals and objectives, regulatory compliance, and industry best practice, i.e. mechanical integrity, supplier & services integrity, and integration.  Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Direct, plan, implement, promote, and control maintenance department efforts in the development and implementation of business strategies in the areas of safety performance, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, departmental employee productivity, equipment reliability and technical standards.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, supervision, and coaching to the maintenance department management team to meet site objectives and goals. Monitor progress and direct activities to strengthen as needed.
  • Ensure asset maintenance history is maintained and available for determining proactive maintenance strategies. Ensure a well-functioning Preventative Maintenance program that drives improving reliability of all plant equipment, is in place and based on critically of the equipment.
  • Review site performance measures and key performance indicators and take appropriate actions.
  • Prepare, review, and submit maintenance budgets. Ensure control of spending against approved budgets. Continually pursue ways to improve on maintenance service and costs.  Analyze maintenance spending and, in conjunction with department staff, investigate variances and define corrective actions.
  • Implement, maintain, and enhance the maintenance strategy for the facility. 
  • Develop strong relationships with other Nutrien operating sites to increase adoption and effectiveness of maintenance processes and systems. 
  • Support sites in their continuous improvement and program implementation efforts. 
  • Maintain personnel plans for departmental succession. Prove assignments and training activities as necessary for employee growth and promotional opportunities.
  • Directs the coordination, planning, and execution of all plant wide shutdowns, outages, and routine maintenance and assigned projects.
  • Oversees long term plant infrastructure reliability and integrity efforts, and end of life tracking and replacement of major machinery, equipment and processes.

What you will bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or equivalent technical school diploma. 
  • A demonstrated track record of at least 15 years of related technical, maintenance, and operations experience in chemical, petrochemical or process manufacturing companies, with increasing managerial leadership.
  • Knowledge of the Nitrogen and Phosphate chemical processes is desirable.
  • Strong communication and influence skills
  • Proven track record of inclusive team leadership and delivery of results
