What you will do:

  • Responsible for administration of company-owned interests in land, including both fee and less-than-fee ownerships; this position is also the principal liaison with joint interest owners and other area landowners regarding actual or potential effects of company operations
  • Maintain a database of company-owned interests, including fractional and partial ownerships
  • Optimize income production from company land ownership, including timber, agriculture, hunting, or industrial to ensure a sustainable level of income for the long term
  • Manage acquisition and disposal of land ownership interests as directed by management, including preparation of appropriate AFE’s; including short-term and long-term plans for increasing ore reserves and capital budgeting
  • Develop and promote land acquisition, disposal, and management projects subject to management approval that:
    • Improve the phosphate reserve base
    • Address obligations in environmental permits for conservation lands
    • Rationalize holdings for future operational or development needs
    • Enhance the income-producing potential of company interests.
  • Primary site lead for Asset Retirement Obligation pertaining to reclamation and Gypsum stack closure activities
  • Work with the Phosphate capital group to rationalize and estimate accurate funds for large closure activities
  • Be the primary site contact for all construction/execution activities that are planned or in progress
  • Primary contact for site demolition activities.
  • Participate in the development of project permit applications to federal, state, and county regulatory bodies in conjunction with the Manager of Environmental Affairs
  • Assist in the preparation of expansion projects scope of work and high-level cost estimates in response to operations and engineering requirements
  • Author technical recommendations and economic evaluation; system and component specifications, engineering flow diagrams and drawings, execution schedules, and order of magnitude estimates while reviewing the safety and environmental impacts and making recommendations to the Senior Leadership team
  • Provide recommendations on the development of future production and of the long-range mine planning sequences for the White Springs phosphate operation consistent with corporate production goals, facility growth and consistent with federal, state, and county operating permits
  • Responsible for research and implementation of site-wide energy reduction and efficiency projects

What you will bring:

  • B.S. Mining Engineering, other engineering, or Geology discipline
  • Minimum 10 years combined professional experience in Engineering, Maintenance/Operations, Milling, or Project Management within the mining industry
  • Professional engineer or geologist registration is encouraged but not required
