What You'll Do:
Â
The Reliability Superintendent provides leadership for site reliability, maintenance planning and scheduling, predictive maintenance, and mechanical integrity programs. This role is responsible for improving asset reliability, reducing reactive maintenance, optimizing maintenance workflows, and increasing equipment availability across mining and chemical operations. The position leads Reliability Engineers, Planners, Schedulers, and reliability support personnel while partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Inspection, and Capital Project teams to execute long-term asset management strategies.
As a key member of the Maintenance Leadership Team, the Reliability Superintendent establishes reliability standards, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures maintenance work is planned and executed safely, efficiently, and cost effectively.

Safety & Compliance
•   Champion Nutrien’s Culture of Care and Life Saving Rules
•   Promote safe work practices and environmental stewardship
•   Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, PSM, regulatory, and company standards
•   Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions
•  Conduct field engagements to support safe and effective maintenance activities
Reliability & Asset Performance
•   Develop and implement site reliability strategies that improve equipment performance and availability
•   Lead reliability initiatives focused on eliminating chronic equipment failures
•   Drive equipment health monitoring, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), FMEA, and root cause failure analysis (RCFA) programs
•   Develop long-term asset strategies based on risk, criticality, and lifecycle cost analysis
•   Support reliability programs for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, rotating, fixed, and mobile equipment
Planning, Scheduling & Predictive Maintenance
•   Lead the maintenance planning and scheduling team to ensure work is properly scoped, prioritized, and executed
•   Improve schedule compliance, planning quality, and workforce productivity.
•   Oversee condition monitoring programs including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, and motor testing
•   Ensure predictive maintenance findings are converted into corrective maintenance actions
•   Manage maintenance backlogs, job plans, procedures, and work execution processes
Mechanical Integrity & Continuous Improvement
•   Lead the site Mechanical Integrity program and support compliance with PSM requirements
•   Partner with Operations and Inspection teams on asset inspection and repair strategies
•   Facilitate site-wide reliability improvement and Bad Actor elimination programs
•   Drive initiatives that increase planned work, reduce reactive maintenance, and improve asset life-cycle management
•   Support Management of Change (MOC) reviews and capital project reliability evaluations
Leadership & Development
•   Lead, coach, and develop Reliability Engineers, Planners, Schedulers, and Predictive Maintenance specialists
•   Build organizational capability in reliability engineering, planning, scheduling, and precision maintenance
•   Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
•   Support succession planning and employee development programs
What You'll Bring:
Â
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
- Equivalent industrial maintenance, reliability, or leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years of industrial maintenance and reliability experience in mining, chemical processing, fertilizer manufacturing, refining, or other heavy industrial environments.
- 5+ years of leadership experience (with direct reports) managing technical, maintenance, or reliability teams
- Proven experience leading reliability engineering, predictive maintenance, planning and scheduling, mechanical integrity, and asset management programs
- Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Mechanical Integrity requirements
- Experience utilizing CMMS platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Maximo, or similar maintenance management systems
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce reactive maintenance, and improve asset reliability and equipment performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification
- Experience with Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
- Experience supporting large-scale mining, chemical, fertilizer, or manufacturing operations
