What you will do:

  • Maintain a safe and environmentally compliant environment, providing leadership towards achieving production goals in an efficient manner, and ensuring quality of the product is within required specifications.
  • Conduct turnover meetings with off going shift Supervisor.
  • Conduct beginning of shift toolbox meetings/safety discussions.
  • Verify completion of operator critical items lists.
  • Schedule/verify operators' attendance for external training- MSHA, site specific environmental training, hearing tests, etc.
  • Generate work requests for validity and accuracy.
  • Sign off on job certifications for demonstrated skills.
  • Perform lockouts periodically, as needed.
  • Make periodic rounds to control rooms and field to review work, SOP validation, monitor progress of work.
  • Periodically monitor plants with walk through
  • Inspect plant for housekeeping issues for end of shift signoff with emphasis on MSHA requirements for elimination of hazards.
  • Ensure shift crew fall protection equipment properly inspected.
  • Complete shift reports, ensure accuracy. 
  • Ensure communication with field supervisor.
  • Maintain attendance and disciplinary records for crew members.
  • Conduct disciplinary actions as required.
  • Conduct SOP reviews.
  • Conduct PPE inspections periodically.
  • Conduct new employee orientation.
  • Perform performance reviews.
  • Perform Site Specific training for contractors.
  • Support Mine/Chemical Services during the off shift.
  • Monitor LIMS samples and product quality.
  • Coordinate shift maintenance activities.

What you will bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Mill Operations, with a focus on Flotation and Washer processes
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience, including direct reports
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot effectively
