What you will do:
- Direct, plan, implement, promote, and control department efforts in the development and implementation of business strategies in the areas of safety performance, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, departmental employee productivity, equipment reliability and technical standards.
- Maintain the technical expertise of the Department employees, monitoring skill sets and developing of training plans as needed.
- Provide day-to-day direction, supervision, and coaching to members within the team to meet site objectives and goals; monitor that progress and direct activities to strengthen as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies as they apply to department activities.
- Inspect areas of responsibility at regular intervals to appraise and monitor conditions.
- Ensure that the site incorporates “Best Practices” and ensure that these practices work toward continuous improvement.
- Ensure that asset maintenance history is maintained through CMMS system and available for determining strategies.
- Ensure a well-functioning Preventative Maintenance program through active, hands-on, management.
- Manage oil analysis program for Mobile fleet and provide direction for corrective actions as needed.
- Manage mobile equipment remote monitoring systems to promote improved fleet management practices including utilization, fuel consumption, and fleet optimization.
- Prepare and submit budgets for areas of responsibility.
- Ensure control of spending against approved budgets including cost tracking and reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement of maintenance services and costs.
- Analyze maintenance spending and, in conjunction with department staff, investigate variances, and define corrective actions.
- Maintain plans for departmental succession.
- Provide Assignments and training activities as necessary for employee growth and promotional opportunities.
- Proven experience in managing and integrating third-party support to successfully meet departmental needs.
- Maintain communications and coordinate with peer-level positions in other locations as appropriate to identify opportunities for improvement in systems and services.
- Drive team building and inclusion with peers and direct reports.
- Think strategically, driving improvements, cost savings, reliability, and necessary changes to enhance operational performance.
What you will bring:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, Required
- 7 years of combined professional experience in the maintenance field, with specialized expertise in mobile equipment maintenance, Required.
- Preferred experience with Mobile Equipment, Fleet Vehicles, and Heavy Machinery, along with a strong knowledge of mobile equipment maintenance procedures for both wheeled and tracked equipment.
- 5 years of prior experience in a supervisory role, managing direct reports, Required.
- Proficiency in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office, with familiarity in using CMMS systems to drive work outputs and diagnostic technology for mobile equipment maintenance.
- Previous experience in implementing and managing a fleet PM (Preventative Maintenance) program is a plus.
- Experience working under MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) governance is beneficial.
