As a member of the Maintenance & Engineering team, you will focus on evaluating equipment and developing improved process controls for manufacturing liquid crop protectants and related products. You will work with all plant disciplines to continuously improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and costs. Daily work will include active engagement in site safety performance, environmental stewardship, lean operations, and project management.
What you will do:
- Continuously evaluate equipment, process operations and controls to ensure personnel safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with all disciplines, troubleshooting problems, to ensure plant processes are aligned to provide maximum output levels and efficiencies.
- Optimize production by conducting tests, monitoring performances, and compiling de-bottleneck studies to identify cost saving opportunities.
- Design plant and equipment configurations to be readily adapted to suit the product ranges and the process technologies involved, taking safety, environmental and economic aspects into account.
- Provide control system designs, specifications, process control parameters, system testing, and start-up assistance, as required.
- Maintain engineering records including creating and modifying Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and supporting development of operations and maintenance standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for Plant’s PSM program and associated elements of assurance for compliance to the standard.
- Install and commission new equipment, including monitoring developments and troubleshooting as well as managing contractors and documenting process changes and additions.
- Support new product development from trial through to commercialization and improving production lines.
- Keep abreast of current engineering trends, practices, developments, and regulatory changes, which could impact processes and products.
- Complete special projects as needed and any other tasks assigned to support business continuity and growth.
- Responsible for the planning and execution of the 5yr capital plan for the facility and streamlining operations toward efficient operation.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering; experience in lieu of education may be considered.
- Experience with 2D CAD programs such as AutoCAD is desired.
- Strong project management and contractor management skills.
- Strong analytical skills, skilled in application of statistics and data analysis.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Works well independently and in a team setting with excellent time management and organization skills.
- Mechanically inclined, basic knowledge of electrical systems, and experience with PLC logic and programming processes and capabilities with any of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc a plus.
- Knowledge of various types of packaging equipment, pump and pipe sizing, batch processing equipment and processes preferred.
- Well rounded and detail oriented with the ability to support future goals of the facility.
